You
Sweetness, attitude, brilliance
Unique like a thumbprint
My eyes, my vision
They see, they like
Your sweetness, your attitude, your brilliance
Your soul should speak to my heart
To understand the Lang of my eyes
What you read, is what I see
You,
Unique, refreshing
Your proof?
My touch;
passionate but gentle
Urgent but careful
My look;
Intense but soft
Lingering but shy
YOU

Tara at 37

Its been a lesson
Been doing some messing
Keep seeing the blessing
Striving through the tough road to 37
I have loved and been loved
I have hurt and been hurt
I have slipped, I have strutted
Still climbing, still rising, still learning
What a trip
History to make you wince and grin
My life, my 3rd decade
My wife, My daughter, my heartthrob
Humility is the core
Confidence and pride, the crust
May God Lord continue to
Bless me
Guide me
Forgive me
Protect me
Amen

Things fall apart

You feel a knot
Stifle a sob
Heave a sigh
Wishing on a star
Hoping for another stab

OMG! How does this work?
Falling for a taken soul
Stressing for another's love
Affecting another's halo

A friendship for life
Frayed, tottering, on the brink
Life's lessons learned
A fist bangs the table
Frustrated, helpless, guilt tripped
A friendship gone tepid
A love turned sour
Things fall apart
Never to be put back

The fizz is a fuss
You miss the buzz
Hoping the love survives
Praying its revived
That the centre will finally hold

Kente

the kente cloth
A tapestry of color
A testament of labor
The Fabric of a nation
Worn by the rich,
Expressed by the skilled
Soccer, football
The passion of a continent
The pride of Ghana
Shining above all others
A star; black, bold and beautiful
Weaving a new brand of football
A tapestry of dedication and skill
Uniquely african, seemingly childish
Yet Striding with giants
Winning with 1 stone,
like the proverbial david vrs goliath
Reaching heights hitherto unexpected
A brand awakened,
Dreams enlargened
On the wings of Kente, Gh is reborn;
Our soccer, our fabric, our food, our people
Gh4life! The Pride of Africa
A black star...shining and showing the way!!!
In our Kente we trust, in our Kente we love
Long Live Gh...the Brand
Long Live Ghana, our motherland

Changing tides

Changing tides, changing seasons
A new dawn, new reasons
Reality beckons, waving away stale dreams
Great opportunity? Great challenge?
A great marshall leads a new charge
Trusted generals stutter with doubt and rage
Thousands of arrows in our Quiver
Yet a bigger monster to make us shiver
Years of battle ensure our readiness
Natural skill enforce our willingness
However a loud battlecry
Doesn't preclude trusted strategy
True men, seasoned soldiers
Face a new battle with stiffened shoulders
Under the wings of a new marshall
Shouting chaaaarge!!!!
In an uncomfortably new direction
True men, true soldiers
To follow or to chart a new course
This is a soldiers dilemna
Ever changing reality, in an ever changing world

The ques of luv vrs friendship

A friend
A shoulder to cry on
A cornerstone to build on
A darling in love's bad times
Forgotten in romance
The convenient warmth of friendship
The exciting heat of love
In a constant tango
To ignore the heat of a love relationship
Or spurn the warmth of friendship
When the heat of loves sun sets
The glow of friendships moon grows
The dilemma of luv
Bask in the warmth of the moonlight
Or enjoy the heat of the suns rays
Luv ur friend
Befriend ur luv
Simple yet complex
The ques of luv vrs friendship
It is the question of life

Your laugh, your smile
Bubbly, like champagne
The warmth rises, like an erupting volcano
Rising to show my joy for being a part
A part of the reason for your smile
A smile, totally deserved!!
Sparked by small servings of luv
Always there for you
Happy to make you happy
Sad to see you sad
Mad to see you mad :-)
Babygal I want to make you mine!!

What is a Nuptial
Luvs pageant or luvs trial

Heralding a new dawn
Welcoming family born,
Out of true luv unsurpassed?
Or the seed of emotions favourably timed?

Announced with music, dancing, food and wine
Sustained with obligation, luv, bills and babies
And laughter engineered by adorable toddlers
Romance, beauty, surprise all dutifully mourned

Nuptials; celebrating a painful beginning?
waving away a past of peace and glory?
Or embracing a future of possibilities with a new union
A union forged by society, religion and emotion
Challenged by same

Nuptials to burials, a trial of commitment

The Ghana Black Stars hitherto perennial underchievers on the World stage (senior national team), burst onto the world stage in 2006 with a relatively young team; built around arguably the best midfield in the world; Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah. These young dudes took the world by storm beating two team from the worlds top ten teams ; Czech and USA to qualify to the next stage; the only African team to do so.
Unfortunately for the Ghanaian team the main inspirer and the engine room of the Ghanaian side was suspended from a "dream" match up between Ghana (the Brazil of Africa) and the original Brazil team.
The Brazilians of Africa, flattered to deceive, doing better in all departments; possessing better that the Brazilians, passing better, dribbling better, but failing to score. The Brazilians led by the legendary Ronaldo punished Ghana 3 times to end the match at 3 - 0
Ghana's maiden tourney inspite of this was covered in Glory, exiting as the most shining star for Africa.

Fast forward to 2010, The Ghana Blackstars is the youngest team in the tournament, they are the only African team leading their group, the only african team with a win (until SA whupped France)

In both tourneys, youthfulness prevailed for Ghana, the best players from Ghana's side; Dede Ayew - 20 yrs; Kevin Prince Boateng - 22yrs;

A case for the youth?

why do we luv the people we luv?

I fear this question will not have a universally accepted answer,
but that's the whole idea right ;-).
In my life I have fallen in love with different kinds of people, (thankfully all female..lol).
I have tried to find the single thread that binds them and I have come up short.
True I find all of them attractive albeit to varying degrees,
I cannot honestly describe all of 'em as classic drop dead beauties.
Some of them are strong and quiet, others are outspoken,
others seemingly soft.
There has been dark, fair, tall, slim, full bodied, mostly good gals(whateva dat means)
but a few naughty exceptions. So question is y do we fall in love with the people we fall in luv with?
